Anjan Kaushik, MD FAAOS

Board Certified Orthopedic Surgery
Fellowship Trained in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery
Fellow American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons
Volunteer Faculty, Marion University College of Osteopathic Medicine

In many ways, the hand is a pathway to the mind, so a person’s ability to use their hands and arms effectively often reflects their mental well-being.  Dr. Kaushik is dedicated to helping patients get back to a healthy frame of mind by decreasing pain and improving the function of their hands.  He specializes in treating conditions of the fingers, hands, wrist, and elbows, as well as several problems in the ankles and feet.  Most orthopedic ailments can be treated successfully with both non-surgical and surgical methods, and the majority of patients recover rapidly from their diagnoses.  He strives to maximize non-surgical options, but if surgery is necessary, he gives patients an evidence-based outlook for treatment outcomes, rehabilitation, and recovery after surgery.

Dr. Kaushik aims to treat all patients as he would treat his own family, and his practice is founded on the tenets of compassion and empathy for patients.  He takes the time to explain their injuries and treatment options in ways that they can understand.  His expertise and connection with his patients have made him a leading upper and lower extremity specialist in eastern and central Indiana.  He is passionate about helping patients recover from a broad variety of limb conditions, from the fingertips to the toes.

He attributes his interest in orthopedic surgery to his love for sports as a child, and he worked as an assistant athletic trainer before pursuing this field.  His undergraduate education was at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, and he completed medical school and orthopedic residency at the University of Virginia.  His Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery Fellowship was at the University of Rochester.  Dr. Kaushik has cherished returning to the Midwest, especially to a community full of genuine, loyal, and caring people.  He enjoys playing soccer and tennis with his kids and road trips to explore the country.
